Privacy Policy
The Friend Foundation ("the Foundation," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it. That includes:
- Contact form submissions. When you reach out through the contact form, we collect your name, email address, the topic you selected, and the content of your message.
- Donations. Donations are processed by PayPal. PayPal collects and handles all payment information directly under its own privacy policy. The Foundation receives only the information PayPal shares with us after a successful donation (such as your name, email, and donation amount) for the purpose of acknowledging your gift.
- Email correspondence. If you write to us, we keep your messages so we can respond and follow up.
We do not currently use cookies, analytics scripts, or third-party tracking pixels on this website.
2. How we use your information
We use the information you provide solely to:
- Respond to your questions or requests.
- Acknowledge and record donations.
- Communicate with you about our programs, when you have asked us to.
- Improve the Foundation's programs and the way we serve our community.
3. Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share your information only when it is necessary to do so:
- Service providers. Trusted third parties that help us operate (for example, PayPal for donation processing, or our email service provider) may receive only the information needed to perform their services for us.
- Legal obligations. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, court order, or to protect the rights or safety of the Foundation, its participants, or the public.
4. Children's privacy
This website is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
5. Your choices and rights
You may:
- Ask us what information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete that information.
- Opt out of any future communications from us at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.
6. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as required by applicable law. Donation records may be retained longer to comply with tax and reporting requirements.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you share with us from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. External links
